Mitsubishi's Death Ride Accelerates in the USA
US market has become deadly for bad carmakers like Mitsubishi Motors. Its management has been putting on a brave face, and even some gullible/paid members of the press stating that Mitsubishi's sales is slowly turning around. However, our analysis shows that Mitsubishi's situation is becoming more severe and we expect it to be out of the US market soon.
Mitsubishi Motors introduced its Raider pick-up trucks during this month. Huge promotions for that and its newness should lift Mitsubishi sales somewhat but overall the picture is glum.
Newly introduced 2006 Mitsubishi Eclipse sold 2,496 units. Excluding Mitsubishi Eclipse's sales figure, Mitsubishi sold 6,558 units during the month of September 2005 compared to 8,156 units it sold during September 2004 - a drop of over 19 percent. Sales are still dropping and the competition is becoming fiercer day by day.
