In 2004 February Mitusbishi Motors America had sold 20,624 vehicles; in February of 2005, this number was down to 12,477 - a drop of nearly 39%. SUV sales tumbled by 46 percent to 3,266 from 6015. Car sales dropped by about 37 percent to 9,211 from 14,519 units. Lancer sales showed decline of over 50 percent compared to that a year ago.
