Mitsubishi Sales Sharply Down by 34 Percent

Mitsubishi Motors North America report that it sold 817 vehicles, registering a drop of 34 percent over 2000 July. Number of selling days was 27 compared to 26 for lasy year's July but that didn't seem to help much. Also this number was less than 949 vehicles it sold in June of this year.

Mitsubishi Numbers

It sold 577 passenger cars, a drop of 40 percent over 962 units it sold in July 2003. For SUVs the drop was smaller - just 13 percent, selling 240 units compared to 277 sold last year's July. Total vehicles sales was 817 compared to 1,239 it sold in 2003 July, a drop of 34 percent.

Models sold in Canada are almost identical to their US counterparts and include Outlander, Montero Sport, Montero and Endeavor in the SUV category and Galant, Eclipse, Eclipse Spyder, Diamante, Lancer Sportback, and Lancer in the passenger car category.

Toyota, Honda and Nissan Shine. Again.

Canadian auto market was weak during the month of July. Sales dropped by 9 percent to 132,782 unit. However, Toyota, Honda and Nissan did well, taking market share from other car manufacturers. The automakes and their sales with percentage change only July 2003 number follows:
