Mitsubishi Motors fares badly in Japan for 2004 May Sales


Mitsubishi Down 32%

Mitsubishi Motors Australia sold 4232 new cars compared to 6185 during May 2003. This reflects a 32% drop. Locally-built Magna had 49% decline. On the other hand, the Australian new car sales market is on way to a record-setting year. Over 78,000 new cars were sold in Australia during may 2004, up slightly from last year's figure. Toyota sold 15,869 vehicles, Holden 14,921 and Ford 11,004. [VFACTS figures of Federal Chamber of Automotive Industries (FCAI).

Mitsubishi is going to introduce new car models this year - Colt in September, Lancer Evolution 8 and VR-X next month. Grandis was released last week.
