Mitsubishi Sales
Australia auto market was strong, selling 97,212 cars and commercial vehicles, a record. Mitsubishi Motors sold 6,857 sales (7.1 per cent market share) and it was a record for it too. Has to be seen if there is some recovery (last month sales were down to 4232 new cars) or is just a temporary event.
Toyota Shines
Toyota sold 22,116 vehicles in June, crossing 100,000 vehicle sales for the first half of the year. Sales figures for the month of June 2004 follows for leading manufacturers.
Toyota - 22,116 (23% market share)Holden - 17,502 (18 percent)
Ford Australia - 13,314 (13.7 percent)
Mitsubishi Motors Australia - 6,857 (7.1%)
Last month Toyota, Holden and Ford sold 15,869, 14,921, and 11,004 vehicles respectively.
Holden Commodore Stretches its lead
Holden Commodore stretched its lead as the nation's top selling car with 7,746 sales. Last month it sold 6,275 units. Ford BA Falcon sold 6,716 units, a big improvement over last month's sales of 5,204.
