EPA tests etermined that these products improved fuel efficiency only a little. A consumer has to do cost benefits analysis to determine whether these products are worth buying. However it does not conduct any durability tests and therefore, long-term effects are not known. It warms that on board diagonostic systems associated with modern vehicles' sophisticated and comple emission control systems might be adversely affected by retrofit of some of the products it tested in alarming the driver to problems of emission control and fuel delivery.
