Mitsubishi Head Restraint Ratings
From IIHS-HLDI's page on Mitsubishi's Head Restraint Rating: To effectively protect occupants' necks, a head restraint must be high enough to catch the head and close enough to catch it early in a crash. You may need to adjust your restraint (some designs are manually adjustable) to achieve this. Institute ratings indicate whether a particular head restraint design is likely to accommodate a wide range of driver/occupant sizes. Restraints rated marginal can be adjusted to catch the heads of people the size of an average male (5'9") or shorter. Better ratings indicate that taller people also can be accommodated. Some adjustable restraints don't lock in position, though, so only the unadjusted geometry is rated. You may need to adjust your seatback angle or driving posture to achieve the smallest possible backset (distance behind the head).
More than one rating: Ratings are for individual vehicle models. More than one rating may be shown for a model because vehicle seat options can affect head restraint geometry.
The Institute has not evaluated the head restraints in every vehicle model during every model year.
HLDI has 4 ratings: Good, Acceptable, Marginal, Poor.
