Complaint Description: while parked in the driveway consumer made an attempt to start the vehicle. consumer heard several clicks coming from the engine compartment. after two unsuccessful attempts to start, it started on the third attempt. before the vehicle could be put in gear consumer saw smoke coming from the engine compartment. consumer was able to remove passengers from vehicle before the entire engine compartment was consumed by fire. fire department extinguished the fire, but was unable to pinpoint the cause. the dealer and the manufacturer were informed of the problem. *ak .
